Golden Globes 2014: The winners list, plus the best of Tina and Amy!

“Live, from Beverly Hills, it’s the 71st Annual Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Lee Daniels’ The Butler Golden Globe Awards!”
-The greatest hosts ever, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler…already proving their greatness with their first sentence.

The 71st Golden Globes aired on NBC last night (duh) and they did not disappoint. I think anyone can agree that the best part was Tina and Amy (and if you don’t agree you must be deaf) and we can look forward to their hilarious jokes next year too! Can next year come faster? So before I get to the winners let’s take a look at Tina and Amy’s top 5  jokes (in my opinion of course). Obviously it was extremely hard to narrow it down to just 5, since I think even them just saying they need to go to the bathroom would be hilarious, but I did it so read on! If you want to skip right to the winners (how dare you skip Tina and Amy’s jokes) then keep scrolling and you will find them!

5. Amy: “Matt Damon is here for Behind the Candelabra. Matt, on any other night in another room, you would be a big deal. But tonight, and don’t take this the wrong way, you’re basically a garbage person.”

4. Tina: “Matthew McConaughey is here. For his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he lost 45 pounds, or what actresses call ‘being in a movie.’”

3. Amy: The Wolf of Wall Street is a big nominee tonight. I really love the film, but some of it was too graphic. I mean, if I wanted to see Jonah Hill masturbate at a pool party, I’d go to one of Jonah Hill’s pool parties.”

2. Tina: “Gravity is nominated for best film. It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

1. Tina: “And now, like a supermodel’s vagina, let’s all give a warm welcome to Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Honorable mention: Tina (about Amy after she won her Golden Globe): “I just want to say congratulations again to my friend Amy Poehler, I love you and there’s a special place in hell for you,” which was clearly an awesome dig at Taylor Swift because of what Taylor said last year.

Just to refresh your mind, last year Tina and Amy mocked Taylor’s love life and joked about her staying away from Michael J. Fox’s son, and Taylor went on to prove that she does not know how to take a joke. She told Vanity Fair, “You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people. Because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women,’” when addressing the joke. Should we expect a song about this on Taylor’s next album?

Here’s Tina and Amy’s opening just in case you want to laugh all over again!

Well moving on to the most important part (besides Tina and Amy)…the winners!

Country Music’s Best and Most Swoon-Worthy Weddings

So after getting guiltily addicted to countless hours of Say Yes To The Dress I started thinking about famous peoples’ weddings and even more specifically the best kind of famous people…country stars! Because ya know, they are normal people too– with millions of dollars, big houses, ridiculous amounts of talent, and well, everything– but still totally normal. Have you ever wondered what kind of dress/tux your favorite country star wore? Where they got married? Maybe even to who if you have perhaps been living under a rock? Well here’s your go-to guide of some of the best in country musics’ big day…even if we wish that some of them would stay single forever…or until we scoop them up (it’s ok to admit it).

Zac Brown Band’s Coy Bowles

Everyone’s favorite fried chicken loving, laid back band’s guitarist, Coy Bowles, married his wife, Kylie, in probably the most creative way there is…in a music video! Bowles and his wife got hitched in the band’s “Sweet Annie” music video. Kylie wore a jeweled, gypsy style dress to go with their gypsy style wedding. There’s no better way to get a look into the wedding than watching the video so take a look!

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

miranda-bridal-shootThe cutest/funniest/most beautiful country couple out there got back down to their roots for their wedding. Country music’s golden couple had a rock n roll wedding with some hillbilly thrown in there. It wouldn’t be a Shelton wedding without the hillbilly part. The “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer wore 2 different dresses for the ceremony and reception. For the ceremony she wore her mother’s dress and for the reception she wore a short dress. The most important part of her wardrobe? Cowboy boots of course! You can’t have a country wedding without them! Miranda’s bridesmaid and fellow country singer, Ashley Monroe, sang0059-miranda-lambert-blake-shelton-wedding-pictures-shot-by-robertevans-com-walking-down-aisle  “Makin’ Plans”, a song Miranda wrote for Blake, while Miranda walked down the aisle. Blake also sang a song he wrote for their wedding at the reception, “Let’s Grow Old Together”. The best part though is how the happy couple had their dogs as a part of the wedding. So let’s just say they had the perfect wedding. Cue the jealousy.

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley

brian-kelley-600The most recent wedding, and one that us ladies are probably not too excited about, is FGL’s Brian Kelley to his girlfriend of 7 months, Brittney Cole. These 2 secretly got married at Kelley’s home in Nashville at an outdoor ceremony in December. They wed at sunset in front of 40 guests, which included FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and the duo’s bandmates, and had a tapas-style dinner in a renovated barn. Cole found her short, lacy dress on Etsy. They plan on honeymooning somewhere tropical and getting a puppy this year. Talk about the perfect life. As upsetting as it is that Kelley is off the market, it does sound like a great wedding.

Carrie Underwood

carrie_underwood_wedding_dressThe queen of country music (well, one of the queens) married her Canadian hockey player husband on July 10, 2010 in probably the most expensive wedding known to man. Maybe not the most expensive ever but it must come pretty close. They got married at a resort where the hotel name on the entry way and the room keys were replaced by a signature “CM”, which was also apparently printed everywhere. They clearly went all out and that’s just the start. Their fairytale wedding included 250 guests, 3,000 roses, a 40-carat tiara, a princess style ball gown dress custom designed for Underwood, and a whole lot of pink. Needless to say, their wedding was fit for the queen of country music.

Jake Owen

The “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” singer married his model girlfriend Laceyjake-owen-2-300 Buchanan on the beach at sunrise in Owen’s hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. This couple met when Buchanan was in Owen’s music video for “8 Second Ride” and started dating after she starred in his video for “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”. They were in fact barefoot at their small, intimate, family-only ceremony, but not in blue jeans. Buchanan’s sister was her maid of honor and Owen’s twin brother (yes, he has a twin) was his best man. After the ceremony they had champagne, cake and brunch at the Vero Beach Hotel and Spa. Buchanan is one lucky lady!

Kellie Pickler

The American Idol alum ditched her big wedding plans and eloped to Antigua with her Nashville song writer boyfriend, Kyle Jacobs. They got married on a sandbar in Antigua at sunset, followed by an intimate dinner at the Jumby Bay island resort. They danced, ate and drank champagne and then stayed for 4 days on the island. Well if that’s not the most perfect surprise wedding then I don’t know what is.

Of course there’s more amazing country weddings but these are just some to swoon over! Well all there is left to do now is watch more Say Yes To The Dress alone while eating insane amounts of chocolate!

Once Upon A Time Season 3, Episode 11 Recap: “Going Home” to the Enchanted Forest…and NY!

Once Upon A Time‘s mid-season finale, Season 3, episode 11, titled  “Going home”, delivered quite a few surprises and even more tears. Read on for the full (and very delayed…I blame finals) recap for OUAT!

Well, Pan and Henry are still stuck inside of each other’s bodies, and it has not gotten any less weird to see Henry (well, his body) be evil. Henry (Pan) is looking over the well with Felix, getting ready to cast his spell. He throws in all of the potions and such. The whole time I was wondering, “what about the heart!” Well, then comes the heart. Being that Felix has been the only one to believe in him, Pan takes Felix’s heart to complete the spell. It was nice knowing you Felix. Actually, it wasn’t at all. Good riddance.

ONCEUPONATIME_Y3_D311-F055_001_pre-550x366Regina tells the gang that in order to stop Pan’s spell, they need to switch back the bodies so Henry can bring them the scroll. To do this, they need the wand from the Black Fairy that is inside of the convent. Neal, Tink, Hook, and David walk into a memorial service for the Blue Fairy at the convent. The shadow from Neverland is now the only thing stopping them. Hook decides to give it a go and catch the shadow in the coconut thing. He fails. Tink then wants to prove the Blue Fairy wrong and uses her pixie dust to fly up to the shadow and trap it into the coconut. Tink saves the day. Mission accomplished. The Blue Fairy is also alive again and gives Tinker Bell her wings back!

Rumpel is then able to switch the bodies back and instead of killing Pan when he has the chance, he decides to wait until Pan wakes up. When Pan wakes up the father and son reunite, in the worst way. Rumpel thinks that Pan will not have his magic since he is wearing the cuff, but Rumpel must have forgotten that Pan is the one who made the cuff in the first place. Pan pulls a switcheroo and puts the cuff on Rumpel. Pan leaves his son without magic and heads to town.

Henry comes back with the scroll and gives it to Regina, who proceeds to pass out and have a vision. Pan shows up and ruins it all, though. Pan freezes everyone there. Cue Rumpel. Rumpel tells Belle how much he loves her and says a heartfelt goodbye to his son, all while they are frozen. Or at least unable to respond, considering there was a lot of blinking and moving. I would hope that was not them trying to be frozen. Anyway, Rumpel stabs Pan, making them both disappear form Storybrooke. Pan turns back into his older self and tries to convince Rumpel he can change before disappearing, though. Good try, Pan. Cue the tears. Who knew the possible death of a villain would be so sad (I’m talking about Rumpel).

Belle breaks down crying and everyone is sad. Regina now must break the news that brings on more tears. Storybrooke is not able to be saved, but everyone can be saved by going back to where they came from…the Enchanted Forest! Not everyone, though. Henry must stay in the normal people world since that is where he was born and Emma can stay with him since she is the savior. They will not remember anything from Storybrooke but will think that they have been together in normal people land the whole time.

Now time for the goodbyes. Henry tells Regina that she is not a villain, she’s his mom. Awwww. There is also a pretty sweet moment between Regina and Emma. Emma says goodbye to her parents, Neal/Bae, and Hook, who she still clearly has some sexual tension with. Henry and Emma get into Emma’s yellow bug and drive past the town line as the curse takes over Storybrooke and the rest of the gang returns to the Enchanted Forest.

The episode ends with Emma and Henry being in a NYC apartment, making0cce4c01d7c2e7cc_Screen_Shot_2013-12-16_at_12.00.20_PM.png.preview eggs and dancing. It is a cute mother and son moment until there is a knock at the door. Emma opens the door and it’s…Hook! He’s in his pirate outfit and all…in NY. He must have gotten some weird looks. Hook frantically tries to tell Emma that her family is in danger and she has no idea what he is talking about. Hook kisses her but she still does not remember. She slams the door and that ends the mid-season finale.

What an episode. There probably was not a dry eye in the house. When OUAT returns in March (sooo far away!) we can look forward to a new villain who can only be described as, well, wicked. It’s the Wicked Witch! Check back for my recaps when Once Upon A Time returns on March 9, 2014!

Until then, check back for more recaps and articles about TV and everything country music!

Once Upon A Time Season 3, Episode 10 Recap: “The New Neverland” is Coming to Storybrooke

Once Upon A Time season 3, episode 10 “The New Neverland” brought the whole Neverland gang back to Storybrooke, including the ruthless Pan in disguise, but also took away one of everyones’ favorite fairies. Read on for the full recap!

BN-AR798_once_E_20131206182422The episode begins with Ariel being reunited with Prince Eric. They stare into each other’s eyes, kiss for a little, and are then interrupted by the Jolly Roger coming back into town. Talk about ruining a moment, huh? Everyone is given a warm and loving welcome, including Henry, well, Pan. The Lost boys see daylight for the first time in who knows how long. Seriously though, why was Neverland so dim? Rumpel also reunites with Belle and shows what a strangely cute couple they are.Once-Upon-a-Time-28-550x366

The gang heads over to Granny’s to celebrate. Tink and the Blue fairy have an awkward run-in where the Blue fairy refuses to give Tink her wings, even after Regina vouches for her. Emma gives Henry his fairytale book, the book that started this whole fiasco, and also sees that there is something weird going on with Henry. Emma is also offended when Henry asks to stay with Regina instead of her. Neal, on the other hand, would love to stay with Emma and asks her on a date. She does not give him an answer but he says he will be at the diner the next day and for her to meet him there if she wants.

The next day at Granny’s, Rumpel gives David the elixir for the dreamshade, David downs it like a champ, and David is cured! All is well in the world. Well, not really. It is never well in OUAT. David and Snow realize Neal is sitting there alone so David goes to find Emma.

While at Regina’s, Henry asks Regina about her magic and the vault that it is kept in but Regina will not give answers. Instead she gives her love (shocking, I know) and tucks him into bed. So she really tucked in Peter Pan who is really Rumpel’s dad. Hmm, I guess that’s not the weirdest thing we’ve seen. Henry/Pan gets out of bed (bad Henry) and goes to the window to summon his shadow. The next day the shadow of the Blue Fairy is taken by this shadow. Aww, poor innocent fairy.

This only makes Emma more sure that there is something up with Henry so she asks Rumpel to release Pan from Pandora’s box. This must be done outside of city limits so magic cannot be used and so Pan doesn’t kill them. No worries, though. Emma quizzes Pan and turns out it is Henry! They hug (awkwardly considering Pan is just a tad bit taller than Henry) and go back inside of city limits. Watch out folks, they’re on a mission.

o-OUAT-PETER-PAN-CURSE-131208-facebookThe gang goes to Regina’s vault, where Regina has brought “Henry” to keep him safe from the shadow. “Henry” pulled one over on Regina by using her own magic to knock her out and the gang finds Regina laying there unconscious. They wake her up only to realize that “Henry” took the curse that Regina originally used to make Storybrooke and make everyone forget their fairytale lives. This will make everyone forget who they are so needless to say, they must stop Peter Pan. We then find Peter Pan (still in Henry’s body) telling Felix his plans of making Storybrooke into the new Neverland. What a downer.

This week’s flashback shows Regina rudely barging in on Snow and Charming’s wedding. Snow wants to do something about this but Charming convinces Snow there is nothing they can do so they might as well go on their honeymoon. Snow agrees but with a different plan in mind. They go to Snow’s parents’ summer palace where we are shown some slightly uncomfortable scenes about sex between the happy couple.

Snow sneaks off into the woods, well, she thinks it’s sneaky but finds Charming there waiting for her. She informs Charming of her plan to turn Regina into stone using Medusa’s head and Charming agrees to help if that will satisfy her. They go to the cave where Medusa resides and get ready to cut her head off. The only problem is when they try to cut it off it does not work. Instead Charming gets turned into stone, Snow sees Regina in the shield, and then Snow makes Medusa see her own reflection in the shield, causing her to turn to stone. Charming turns back into flesh and blood and the couple lives happily ever after. Well, not really, but they enjoy their honeymoon and probably continue that sex talk they originally started.

Next week we see Pan’s curse starting to hit the town so watch Once Upon A Time season 3, episode 11, “Going Home”, next Sunday at 8pm on ABC to see if the people of Storybrooke can stop it! Then check back for my recap!

The ABC’s of Lost

Ajira Airways flight 316

This is the flight that the Oceanic Six take back to the island after being convinced by Ben that they need to go back. Oh and can’t forget Frank who also went back on this flight…unknowingly of course. This is also the plane that the survivors use to get off of the island in the finale. Kate, Sawyer, Miles, Claire, Frank and  Richard (who is probably the most anxious to get off of the island considering he was there for, well, a very long time) make it off of the island alive.

Bamboo forest

This is the forest that Jack wakes up in when the plane first crashes and also where he dies, both of these times being accompanied by one of the only ones that makes it through the entire series alive…Vincent!

Being that these people were stranded on a deserted (or so they thought) island, setting up camp was vital. Two of the camps these survivors set up were in the beach and in the caves.

DHARMA initiative

These people were the scientific research group that set up all of the different stations on the island to do research. Unfortunately for them, they get wiped out by the Purge. They get another shot at it though when Sawyer, Juliet, and some of the other characters travel back in time and become a part of this initiative.

Eloise Hawking

Eloise was a former leader of the Others, and also Daniel’s mom. This lead to the shocking discovery of Charles Widmore being the father of Daniel. Eloise ends up shooting Daniel not knowing that it was her future son. Cue the tears.

Flight 815

Oceanic flight 815…the flight that brought all of these people to the island.

Glass eye

When the tailies are looking in the Arrow station they find 3 items: a Bible, a radio transmitter and this glass eye but we never find out whose it was.

Hydra Island

This was the island where the Others brought Jack, Kate and Sawyer. It’s also the island where they work on their “projects”. Ya know, like breaking rocks and such.

Well, considering this whole show is about an island, this one seems pretty fitting. There’s Hydra Island and of course the Main Island where all of the Lost shenanigans take place.

Jacob was the protector of the island…for over 2,000 years! He is also the brother and enemy of the Man in Black who takes many different forms throughout the show. After 2,000 years of taking care of the island, Jacob was killed by Ben. Well, he had a good run I guess.

The freighter that Charles Widmore sent to find and recapture the island is eventually blown up by c4, killing Michael or “Kevin Johnson”. It was called “Kahana” in case you didn’t know.

“Live together or die alone”

The famous phrase Jack said in his speech when things weren’t going so smoothly, when all they had to worry about was where to get water and how to hunt a boar…not the island sinking, time travel, or an ageless man living in an Egyptian statue. The good ‘ole days.

Oh, the smoke monster…or the Man in Black. He takes the form of smoke, Yemi, Christian and John Locke.

4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. Hurley’s winning lottery numbers, the numbers that had to be entered when pushing the button, the numbers on the soccer girls’ jerseys in the airport, etc. Needless to say, they are some pretty important numbers.

The group of people who live on the island. They may capture people, and torture them, and maybe even kill them, but they’re not all bad! Well, Juliet’s not at least.

Polar bears

Who knew polar bears could live on a tropical island? Well, in Lost they do and they are some deadly animals.

After discovering the Hatch, the survivors noticed that this is what the Hatch door read.

Room 23

This is where Walt, Karl and even Jin were kept when captured by the Others, or Charles Widmore in Jin’s case. Karl was strapped in a chair in this room and brainwashed by a video until Alex, Kate and Sawyer saved the day.

Swan station

The Swan Station, AKA the Hatch. Boone and Locke originally found it and the survivors end up finding food and such inside, oh and Desmond inside also.

And everyone thought they were dead…these people were in the tail end of the plane that fell in the ocean. Rose was the only one who believed they were alive and she was right! Rose and Bernard lived happily ever after…well at least we think so.

Underwater station
Not Penny's Boat

The Looking Glass was an underwater station where Desmond and Charlie went to disable the jamming equipment. They succeeded but Charlie had to risk his life to do it. RIP Charlie.

Vincent is probably the most loyal character in the whole show. He was there when Jack first woke up and also when he died. He just roamed the island throughout the whole show and survived…clearly Vincent did it right.

This is the wheel below the Orchid Station that Ben turned to move the island. This is what started the time travel for the characters still on the island. John Locke ended up turning it again to stop the damage that Ben caused and stop the time flashes. Time may have stopped in the 70’s but hey, why not try living in a new decade. What’s life without a little adventure, right?

Xposé (Exposé)

So clearly Exposé does not start with an X but apparently nothing does so this is the closest that there is! This was the show that Nikki starred on before her and Paulo were accidentally buried alive on the island. But at least it was accidental.

Yemi was Eko’s younger brother who died in a plane crash on the island…a different plane…filled with heroin. His body was also taken over by the Man in Black on the island.

This was one of the fields that the DHARMA initiative studied on the island at the Hydra station. This explains why there were polar bears on the island and animal cages where Sawyer and Kate were kept.

Once Upon A Time Season 3, Episode 9 Recap: “Save Henry” and Finally Leave Neverland

Once Upon A Time season 3, episode 9 “Save Henry” aired this past Sunday and the gang in Neverland had to beat the clock to save Henry’s life. This episode told the story of Henry’s adoption and finally brought us out of Neverland. Is anyone else really happy about this? Don’t get me wrong, Neverland was a good time (well to watch at least) and all but enough is enough. Read on for the full recap!

The episode opens with the curse being brought upon fairytale land and Rumpel behind bars. He reminds Regina of how the savior has the power and also tells her that one day she will come to him to fill the hole in her heart. We also got to hear the Rumpel laugh we all know and love!

Well whattaya know…Rumpel was right! In Storybrooke Ms. Mayor goes to Gold to fill this “hole” he once told her about because she was not having any luck with adoption agencies. Gold helps her out and just happens to know of a child in Boston that Regina could adopt. She goes to Boston and adopts little Henry.

UnknownWhen she brings him home Henry is quite fussy and will not give Regina a break. Even as a baby Henry was just so…good. He saw right through Regina. Regina brings the baby to the hospital thinking there is something wrong, but no…it’s just her! We do get to see Dr. Whale again…and with short hair. Regina also comes across Mary Margaret in the hospital and she is able to get Henry to stop crying. The former evil queen then calls in Once-Upon-a-Time-Season-3-Episode-9-Save-Henry-04-550x366an illegal favor from Sydney to find some background information on the baby.

Fast forward to Neverland: Regina, Emma and Neal try to keep Henry alive. Regina reminds Emma that Emma has Snow and Charming while Regina only has Henry. They decide the only way to save their son is to work together. Teamwork, yeah!

Emma decides to use her motherly charm and talk to the Lost Boys. She ends up getting through to all but one and tells them she will take them back to Storybrooke with her. Felix is the one finicky Lost Boy but maybe he’ll come around…or not.

The Lost Boys reveal that Pan has gone to his thinking tree so the ladies go while Neal takes care of Henry and Hook prepares the Jolly Roger. At the tree the two ladies are captured by Pan’s tree that feeds off of regret. Lucky for them Regina has no regrets (hmm…well that’s strange) and breaks free from the tree’s grasp. She takes Henry’s heart from Pan and also grabs the box holding Rumpelstiltskin.

Rewind: Regina realizes who this child is and accuses Rumpel of setting it up. Rumpel does not remember anything (or does he?) and denies the accusations. Regina then goes to Boston to return this child, only to realize she does actually want him. That’s too bad for the 2 people who are supposed to adopt Henry when Regina brings him back…the Darling boys! Shocker!

Regina ends up telling baby Henry about a Queen who takes a potion to forget her past,605467 and then ends up being that Queen. She drinks the potion and forgets her past. Doesn’t she realize she just took the potion though? And then wonder why? Does she wonder what that potion is if she sees it sitting there and doesn’t remember taking it? So many questions about this potion! I’m confused! Help!

Once.Upon_.a.Time_.S03E09.720p.HDTV_.XviD_.DailyFliXFast forward again: Regina puts Henry’s heart back inside of him right on time and tucks him in on the boat. She also casts a spell to protect his heart. Why is this the first time we’re seeing this spell? It seems like an important one with all of the heart-ripping-out in this show. After she leaves the room though Pan shows up (dun dun dun) and apologizes for what is about to happen.

On the boat Rumpel is removed from the box and reunited with Bae. Bae calls him papa and everyones’ hearts melt. Rumpel goes down to check on Henry only to find Pan trying to rip out his shadow. Luckily Rumpel has Pandora’s box and captures Pan inside of him. How’s that for revenge, Pan? You get what you give, that’s a saying, right?

David unleashes Pan’s shadow and Regina puts it onto the sail; their journey back to Storybrooke begins. Tink and Regina also share a friendly moment on board. Tink realizes she is getting her magic back from the pixie dust that Wendy gave her. I guess believing is starting to work for her. Wendy, Tinker Bell, The Lost Boys, David, Snow, Hook, Rumpelstiltskin, Bae/Neal, Regina, Emma, and Henry are all aboard and ready to go back home and live happily ever after.

Well, maybe not. After Henry comes up on the boat and shares a hug with his father, he approaches Felix and starts to say things like, “Pan never fails”. Plot twist: turns out Pan is inside of Henry’s body. I guess that’s what that twinkle in Henry and Pan’s eyes was when Pan was being captured inside of Pandora’s box.

What will happen to Henry and Pan and the rest of the crew with Pan joining them in Storybrooke? Only time will tell! Watch season 3, episode 10, “The New Neverland” next Sunday at 8pm on ABC. Judging by the name it’s sure to be a good one! Then check back for my recap!

Once Upon A Time Season 3, Episode 8 Recap: Peter Pan Added to the Family Tree

This week the Neverland gang reunited and the family tree only got bigger. As shocking as the newly revealed family member is, is it really that shocking? Once Upon A Time clearly loves adding more and more branches to this tree so maybe it should have been expected. Either way, OUAT delivered an exciting episode so read on for the recap of season 3, episode 8 “Think Lovely Thoughts”.

This week’s flashback was one that everyone has been waiting for…we finally found out the name of Rumpel’s doll! Although that was probably the most important part of the episode, a lot of other stuff happened in this flashback. Rumpel was the cutest little kid with the cutest little accent. His father was not cut out to be a father because he was a cheat and only cared about himself. Let’s not forget about how he dropped Rumpel off to stay with these 2 women who spin string for a living. No worries though, his father gave him a doll to replace him. That’s equivalent to a dad, right? He tells Rumpel to give it a name. The suspense is killing everyone who is watching as we do not yet find out the name.

Rumpel turns out to be great at spinning string, according to these ladies. They also offer little Rumpel a magic bean that will take him anywhere he wants to go. The innocent little Rumpelstiltskin brings this bean to his father so they can go somewhere together and start over. His father, Malcolm, remembers having dreams about a place that they can go and this place turns out to be none other than Neverland. Didn’t see that coming.

They jump into the portal and arrive on the island. Rumpel tests out the magic by imagining a piece of cake and voila…a piece of cake! There is only one problem. Rumpel’s dad cannot use this magic because he is no longer a child. He tries to fly but face plants into the ground instead. Ouch. But wait…there may be a solution. Pixie dust!

1337087175pre-1384382767Back in present day Neverland, Rumpel and Regina find the crew again. Neal reveals that Rumpel is only there to kill Henry and everyone loses what little trust they had in him. He admits that that was his original plan but that his plan is different now. They all agree to let him stay as long as he doesn’t use magic and gives Neal Pandora’s box. JENNIFER MORRISON, ROSE MCIVER, GINNIFER GOODWIN, LANA PARRILLA, JOSH DALLAS, MICHAEL RAYMOND-JAMES, COLIN O'DONOGHUE

Tink (on that nickname basis now apparently) leads them all to Pan’s camp where FREYA TINGLEY, MICHAEL RAYMOND-JAMESRegina puts all of the Lost Boys to sleep. Only one problem…Pan and Henry are not there. Back to square one I guess. There is hope though when the prisoner, AKA Wendy, cries for help. Her and Baelfire/Neal reunite in one of the cutest moments. I wonder if they find it weird that they used to be the same age…hmm. Neal is shocked to find out that Wendy became Pan’s prisoner when she went to the island to find him. Aww. Wendy reveals Pan’s plan. Now that’s the Wendy Darling we all know and love! She is also excited to know that her Once-Upon-a-Time-32-550x825brothers, who are now awkwardly old, are alive in Storybrooke.

Snow and Charming go to get water to keep David alive so they can get back to Storybrooke, while Hook and Tink go to the Jolly Roger to prepare to leave. Meanwhile, Regina, Emma, Rumpel, and Neal set off to Skull Rock to retrieve Henry. Once they get there they realize that only those without a shadow can enter. So only Rumpel can enter. The one who originally wanted to kill Henry. Well that’s good. He promises to save Henry though and goes into Skull Rock with Pandora’s box.

Regina and Emma work together to find a way around this spell. Together they block the moon in order to remove their shadows.

Back in the flashback we see that Malcolm has encountered the shadow. Because he realizes that he cannot enjoy Neverland with the responsibility of having a son, he finds a solution. He makes a deal with this shadow. The shadow gives him his youth and takes Rumpel away from him so he does not have to deal with a child. Being that Malcolm is now a youth again, he needs a new name and decides to take the name that Rumpel used for his doll. What is this name you ask? Peter Pan! Everyone gasps.

Now in the present we see that Peter Pan and Rumpelstiltskin, AKA father and son, have reunited. We also see the giant hourglass that measures how much youth Pan has left and right now, he does not have much. This is why Pan needs Henry; he needs the heart of the truest believer to give himself his youth. Rumpel pulls out Pandora’s box but oh no! It’s a fake. Pan proves to be quite the magician and pulls out the real box only to trap Rumpel inside. He also further proves to be the worst father ever.

Regina, Emma, and Neal join the party and try to convince Henry that Pan is lying. This kid is just a little bit too gullible and ends up believing Pan, gives him his heart, and collapses to the ground. Pan flies away with his newfound youth. Maybe this kid should learn to not be the truest believer, huh?

Well that’s where Once Upon A Time leaves us hanging. Everyone finally got to see Peter Pan’s backstory without even knowing it and we were all left wondering if Henry will survive. That’s it for this week but watch season 3, episode 9 (“Save Henry”) of Once Upon A Time December 1 at 8pm on ABC and then check back for my recap!

Once Upon A Time Season 3, Episode 7 Recap: The Darling Storybrooke and The Not-So-“Dark Hollow”

Home sweet home! This week Once Upon A Time, season 3 episode 7, “Dark Hollow”, brought us back to the place we all know and love: Storybrooke! Rumpelstiltskin and Regina have finally found a possible way out thanks to Ariel and Belle. Neil and Hook fight over Emma at the worst possible times and Snow and Charming hit a bit of a rough patch. So now let’s get to the details.

The episode started off with a flashback (who knew it was only 5 days ago) of Rumpel tumblr_mw2s7dSY6b1s545blo1_500-1saying his last goodbyes to Belle and telling Belle she has to protect Storybrooke with a cloaking spell before more of Pan’s slaves arrive. Well that plan didn’t last…the slaves see the “cloak” coming down, speed up really fast in their car, and manage to make it into Storybrooke before they are shut out from the town. But oh no, they lost their bumper! You win some, you lose some I guess.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Back in Neverland Rumpel and Regina give Ariel the instructions she needs to retrieve whatever it is that will help them out of this mess and Ariel swims into the horizon. She swims ashore and puts on her bracelet that will give her legs. She finds the dwarves hanging out at the beach and has them direct her to Belle. Belle is so happy to know that she is needed by Rumpel since he left her behind in Storybrooke. She is given what every girl waits their whole life for…a sand dollar. Oh, you mean that’s not what every girl wants? She is just as confused by this as we are. But wait! Belle points a magnifying glass at it (because, duh, why wouldn’t you think to do that) and a hologram of Rumpel appears. He tells Belle she can do it blah blah blah but leaves out the most important part…what it is she’s looking for and where. No worries, though, because he gives the clue about the chipped mug, saying something about using their love to find it, and all is well! That is until Pan’s British Minnesotans show up and steal Pandora’s box and proceed to tie up Belle and Ariel. They break out the fins (Ariel’s of course) and escape to find the Brits in theOUAT-11-10-2-550x366 mine. They convince them not to destroy the box and promise to save their sister who is Pan’s prisoner. Their sister goes by the name of…Wendy Darling! Which makes them the Darling brothers. We meet the Darlings AND find out who was in the cage all at the same time! It’s like Christmas! Belle and Ariel get the box back and Ariel swims her way back to Neverland. She hands over Pandora’s box, Regina gives her legs and Ariel lives happily ever after…for now. Who knows what will happen next in Neverland/Storybrooke/Enchanted Forest/whatever other land OUAT has gone to.

cb7f0ea1974543aac385824615ecb2b9In Neverland the gang breaks into 2…Snow and Charming and perhaps the most awkward group ever, Emma, Neil and Hook. Emma, Neil and Hook discover a way to get them off of the island: capturing Pan’s shadow which likes to hang out in the, not-so-dark, Dark Hollow. I don’t know about you but this “dark” hollow looked pretty red and bright to me. The tension between the 3 of these lovebirds grows stronger and Hook tells Emma that she will fall for him and in his exact words, “it will not be because of any trickery. It will be because you want me.” Well, even if Emma doesn’t, I think all of us have already fallen for Hook. Neil also finds out about their steamy make-out sesh so that makes things a tad bit more awkward, as if they weren’t awkward enough already. Before heading to the red Dark Hollow, they stop off at Neil’s humble abode, his cave, to grab his star map…or I guess now it’s more like a shadow vacuum. What a versatile coconut that is. Once in the Dark Hollow, they decide to use a candle flame to capture the shadow, but when they can’t get the wick lit, the two testosterone filled men fight and fail to realize the 3 shadows about to attack them. Emma uses her magic (it conveniently works right now) and saves her two suitors and traps the shadow. She also tells them if she has to choose between them then she chooses Henry. And then we all say awww.

In other news, Snow finally forgives Charming and tells him she will stay with him no matter what. They make-up and all is right in the world.GINNIFER GOODWIN, JOSH DALLAS, ROSE MCIVER

The gang meets back up at Tink’s (they’re on a nick name basis) and they are ready to defeat Peter Pan and his Lost Boys.

Henry accuses Peter Pan of lying and keeping secrets (shocker!) and goes off on his own only to find Wendy in the tree house faking sick because Pan tells her too. Pan finds Henry and tells him only the heart of the truest believer can save them by going to Skull rock. Henry of course believes him and agrees to complete this task. No surprise there.

Well that wraps up Once Upon A Time season 3, episode 7, “Dark Hollow”. Catch “Think Lovely Thoughts” next Sunday at 8pm on ABC and look forward to the good vs. evil showdown we have all been waiting for! Then check back for my recap!
